Mrs. Kayafas' dad spoke to her 5th and 6th grade classes about being a young child during WWII. His village was occupied by the German and Italian soldiers from 1941-1945. He was 6-10 years old at this time, and he talked about the lack of freedom, as well as, a lack of food. It was very interesting. He also spoke about Greece.. The students asked questions afterwards; It was a great lesson. They couldn't wait to show him all the Greek words and expressions they have learned this year!
