Dwarfism Awareness Month Presentation
Bridgeport Elementary School had the pleasure of having Miss Marody and her daughter do an amazing presentation on Dwarfism Awareness month.  Our awesome students enjoyed every moment and hung on every word.  Miss Marody read the book, Not Too Big...Not To Small...just right for me! to grades Kindergarten through 4th. She answered numerous questions and tied the presentation into the elementary school behavior expectations of being kind, safe and responsible. 
Annual Bridgeport Village Halloween Drawing Contest Winners
The ANNUAL BRIDGEPORT VILLAGE HALLOWEEN DRAWING CONTEST sponsored by the Bridgeport Park Board in conjunction with Bridgeport Schools was recently held.  The contest is open to students of grades K-7. Cash prizes and ribbons are awarded.  Artwork is displayed at the Brookside Dairy Queen (all winners), others at Riesbeck's, Wendy's, Big Lots and all Bridgeport banks through Halloween.  The Bridgeport Recreation Committee is headed by Mrs. Norma Teasdale and volunteer Carole Lyle. Darry Wuekeson, art specialist K-7 co-ordinated the project.

Fall Festivities
Ohio State Senator Visits 3rd Grade
Ohio State Senator, Frank Hoagland visited third grade students on September 6, 2019.  Senator Hoagland is a retired Navy Seal, and he discussed writing to our veterans in honor of Veterans Day. He explained his work in the state house regarding making laws, and he shared proper flag etiquette.  He was accompanied by his dog, Stella, who really enjoyed meeting the students too.
HS Students Read with Students in Kindergarten

High school students in Mr. Swaton and Mrs. Zaccagnini’s class read to students in Miss Murad’s kindergarten classroom. The buddy program enhances reading fluency and comprehension while building connections between Bridgeport students. 


3rd Grader Teaches Peers about Kindness
Zavien took the initiative during his "How To..." writing activity to teach his peers about kindness and what it means to be a PAX leader in the classroom. His perspective made a big impact and the other students really enjoyed it. Zavien is a third grader in Mrs. Tustin's classroom. 
3rd Grade Visits Historic Blain Bridge
Third Graders enjoyed learning about and visiting the historic "S" bridge located in Blaine, Ohio.

Reading Mr. Putter Books

Students in Mrs. Tustin's class had the opportunity to read Mr. Putter and Tabby Pick the Pears. Mrs. Kayafas, Title I Teacher, brought pear jelly for students to try and a diorama of the story. They followed up by reading with a partner other Mr. Putter books.
